The inspiration behind our name comes from “Día de Los Muertos” and the tradition of honoring loved ones with cempasúchil—known in English as marigolds. My grandfather cherished this holiday, and his passion for it left a lasting mark on me. He lived with my family for over 20 years, and during Día de Los Muertos, our home was filled with the glow of his carefully placed candles, each lit to remember someone special. He shared stories of marigold-filled streets in Mexico, how their vibrant color and distinct scent brought the season to life. His stories and traditions stuck with me.
When he passed away in 2018 at the age of 93, I felt a deep pull to keep his tradition alive. I dove into learning more, and the vision he’d described finally came into focus: a colorful celebration of life and memory, marigolds everywhere. Since then, I’ve been committed to bringing the beauty of this tradition to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Summer 2022 I decided, no more driving to work this it was far for me and had 3 kids. I started working from home, turned my garage into a small studio and got a live website. Fast forward April 2024 an opportunity to open an actual small store front fell on my lap and I immediately said, I'LL TAKE IT! Opened my doors officially to the public May 2024.
Today, we offer a full range of services, including flowers for funerals, weddings, events, proms, and more. From fresh floral arrangements to silks and live plants, I’m proud to handle every step of the process, from flower care to delivery. As my business grows, I look forward to adding help for deliveries and front desk support so I can reach more of our community.
I’m actively involved in our local Día de Los Muertos Dallas Parade and sell many marigolds in-store as well for ofrendas and other seasonal traditions. I am part of a local community garden in Hutchins, donate fresh flowers weekly to city facilities, senior centers, the police station, city hall, and local small businesses. My role on the Parks and Recreation Board fuels my vision to keep our community vibrant and connected through flowers and service.
